Allison Cara Tolman (born April 2nd, 1985) was an American actor from the United States. Most famously, she is Molly Solverson from the FX TV series Fargo in the first season. Tolman has won nominations for Emmys & Golden Globes. Tolman is the youngest of three siblings. She also has two brothers older than her. The family relocated to England as she was just a little over a month old. She stuck around until she turned four years old. After spending five years in Oklahoma the family relocated into Sugar Land. As a ten-year-old actress, she began acting in the Fort Bend Community Theatre. She was a student at Clements High School, graduating in 2000. Baylor University awarded her a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in theatre performances. Following graduation, she resided in Dallas and became a founding member of Second Thought Theatre. After that, she moved to Chicago in 2009, where she attended The Second City Training Center to study acting. Tolman gained fame in 2014 as Tolman made an appearance on the FX show Fargo. Fargo is the 1996 Coen Brothers movie, featured Billy Bob Thornton (as Molly Solverson), Martin Freeman (as Bob Odenkirk) and Bob Odenkirk. Tolman was praised for her performance as Minnesota Police Officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair said it was clear that Tolman, "calmly" and "assuredly", stole the show. For her role, she was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Ministry/Movie as well as Best Actress nominations at the Emmy Awards and for the Golden Globes. Tolman has also appeared in a guest spot on The Mindy Show as Abby Berman a romance writer. In 2015, she played a supporting character was on Michael Dougherty's film, horror-film Krampus. Tolman was turned down for character roles as supporting actors such as best friends, wives, and mothers following her first big role on Fargo. She was looking for a role that was different. In 2017, Tolman starred in ABC's Downward Dog, based on the Animal Media Group web series which was cancelled after a single season. Tolman played a role in the ABC drama, Emergence. It premiered on the 24th of September, 2019 and ended after one season which ended on May 21st, 2021, despite the fact that Tolman tweeted it received "pretty good" ratings.
